Steven J. Ebner has been the Upper School History Department Chair for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Virginia, for the past 9 years. He has taught AP Government, US History, World History and a Practical Economics elective the he designed on Financial Literacy and Responsibility. He holds a B.A. in Economics and History from the University of Virginia 1989, a Law Degree from the Washington College of Law at the American University 1994 and a Master’s in Education from Old Dominion University 2004 where he is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honors Society. He is also a graduate of the NAIS Fellowship for Aspiring Heads of School 2009, and was published in the spring 2011 edition of Independent School Magazine. In 2011 he led a school wide 11th grade “Oral History Project” initiative that has replaced the junior year History midterm exam and has become a signature school project: a perfect marriage of “Old School” historical methods and “21st Century Technology.”
